Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are

These terms apply to all bookings on deutschpad.de. Your contract is with:

Karim Hasebou, trading as Deutschpad (sole proprietor)
Freihamer Weg 84, 81249 Munich, Germany
Email: support@deutschpad.de

2. Our service

We offer live German courses online in small groups. Each course covers one CEFR level (A1 to C2) in 16 sessions of 3 hours, held twice a week over 8 weeks on Google Meet, with one teacher and up to 6 students. The course page shows the course's level, dates, times and teacher before you book. You need a device with a camera and microphone, a current web browser and a stable internet connection. We teach with care, but we can't guarantee a particular learning result, such as passing an exam.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Each account is for one person, and each booked place is for the account holder only. Keep your login details to yourself; you're responsible for bookings made with your account.

4. Prices and payment

A course costs the price shown when you book, for the whole course. As a small business under § 19 UStG (Kleinunternehmerregelung), we don't charge VAT. You pay by card through our payment provider Stripe when you book, and your place is confirmed once the payment goes through. Price changes only apply to future bookings. Where these terms refund a session "pro rata", that is the price you paid divided by the course's number of sessions, for each session concerned.

5. Cancelling your place

You can cancel your place free of charge until 7 days before the course's first session by emailing support@deutschpad.de, and we refund the full price. After that, a booked place can't be cancelled or refunded, except as set out in sections 7 and 8. Instead, until the first session, you can ask us once to move your place to a later course of the same level, if that course has a free place.

6. Missed sessions

Sessions take place at their scheduled times, with the group, whether or not you attend. If you join late, miss a session, or can't take part because of technical problems on your side, the session counts as held: there is no make-up session and no refund for it.

7. Changes and cancellations on our side

  • Minimum group size. A course runs with at least 3 students. If fewer than 3 have booked 7 days before its first session, we may cancel it. We'll tell you by email and refund the full price.
  • Other reasons on our side. If we have to cancel a course for reasons on our side, for example because the teacher can't continue and we can't find a replacement, we refund the full price if the course hasn't started, or the sessions not held pro rata if it has.
  • A session we can't hold. If a session can't take place because of us, for example because the teacher is ill or of a technical problem on our side, we schedule a replacement session for the group and email you its time. If you can't make the replacement session, we refund that session pro rata if you ask us at support@deutschpad.de.

8. Right of withdrawal

If you book as a consumer, you have the following right of withdrawal.

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day the contract is concluded, which is the day of your booking.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Karim Hasebou, Deutschpad, Freihamer Weg 84, 81249 Munich, Germany, support@deutschpad.de) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement, e.g. an email or a letter sent by post. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay, and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw. We will use the same means of payment you used for the booking, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement. If you requested that the course begin during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount in proportion to the sessions provided until you told us of your withdrawal, compared with the full scope of the contract.

9. Conduct

Treat teachers, staff and the other students with respect. Don't record sessions without everyone's consent, and don't share your course links or account. Materials your teacher shares are for your personal learning only. If you seriously or repeatedly break these rules, we may remove you from a session or close your account.

10. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence, we are only liable for breaches of obligations essential to the contract, limited to the damage typically foreseeable when the contract was made. Otherwise our liability is excluded. This doesn't affect liability under the German Product Liability Act.

11. Final provisions

German law applies. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. We may update these terms; changes apply to bookings made after the update, and we'll ask you to accept the new version. We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If any provision is invalid, the rest remains in effect.
